Well you told him you wanted to talk to him so talk to him then. Tell him want you want to say otherwise you will look stupid. Your both making the situation confusing. He tried to make conversation first but you blanked him. You disregarded him and he thought you werent interested in him. Stop playing games. Howveer i think it might be too late as he is just being polite by replying to your hi and he is not showing any more interest to be honest.
