In buddhism it says to give up desire but isnt trying to reach enlightenment desire itself???

depends what u feel to be enlightend means ! I feel its a giving up of lifes trapping being truely free from societies influence but stil being a part of it . Its a realisation of how we r all conected rich/ poor/ educated / illiterate it matters not - we r all equal no person is above or below u - its not a desire u search its a realisation that u r truely awake ! When it happens u feel like u r pure love and want others to feel the same - u wil see this world thru different eyes - when it clicks its hard to get that smile off ur face but remember dont search outside of urself u wont find it x
