New Rims on 1974 Plymouth Satellite?

Hey guys im thinking about buyin a 1974 Plymouth Satellite thats been fully restored. It looks great, but i dont really like the old fashioned tires. Can i put some flashy new rims on the old school tires that that kind of car has, or would i have to make all sorts of changes? please answer as detailed as possible because i dont wanna get into something if it might mess up the car.
